Efforts to seek better working styles

With an aim to respond to the various human resource management and labor relation challenges as well as create better working styles, JPA loses no opportunities in exchanging information and views with the management and labor union representatives of the member companies.
With the Japanese Federation of Pulp and Paper Workers' Unions (JPW), the umbrella labor organization of the industry, JPA has appropriate and timely dialogs.

Pulp and Paper Industry Management-Labor Forum

In November every year, top management and the labor union leaders of the member companies meet and discuss issues in human resource management and labor relations including those of medium to long-term nature. They also listen to the guest speaker’s presentation.

Labor relations staff workshop

JPA invites labor relations staff of member companies in late January every year to a workshop in preparation for the annual collective bargaining in the spring. The “Report of the Committee on Management and Labor Policy” prepared by Keidanren (Japan Business Federation) is used as the workshop text to inform the staff of the basic stance of Keidanren.

Labor relations experts committee

Labor relations staff of member companies meet in May and November every year to exchange information and discuss issues in human relations management and labor relations.
Workshops are organized as appropriate by inviting outside lecturers.
