Environmental efforts made by the Japanese paper industry

Environmental Action Plan | OverviewEnvironmental Action Plan | Overview

The Japan Paper Association (JPA) set out its first Committed Action Plan on the Environment in 1997. The Action Plan has been revised and updated eight times since then, serving as an important guide for the Japanese paper industry to address the issues of climate change and resource materials. The industry is proud of its accomplishments that are well above average among major industries.
When the all-industry initiatives focusing, in particular, on climate change ended at the end of FY2012, JPA newly established its Environmental Action Plan in 2012 by defining new targets with a view to better harmonize with the environment and the economic activities, and help build a sustainable society.
